San Miguel Beermen guard Terrence Romeo was named as Mr. Quality Minutes by the PBA Press Corps.
The award was supposed to be given to the former scoring champion on March 16 at the Novotel Manila at Araneta City yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the nation it was postponed to a later date.
Romeo averaged in double figures in 20+ minutes last season. His highest points averaged is during the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup where he logged 15.71 points in 21.96 of playing time in the elimination round.
In the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, he was only seen playing with San Miguel four times as he got sidelined in the elimination phase yet bounced back strong in the playoffs where he was later named as the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals Most Valuable Player.
In the 44th season third conference, his production remains steady yet the Beermen failed to reach the Finals and missed another opportunity to complete a grand slam.
Romeo was a regular starter during his stint with the GlobalPort Batang Pier and the TNT KaTropa yet after he joined the SMB squad he embraced the sixth-man role where he was able to blend with the basketball system orchestrated by multi-champion coach Leo Austria.
In the lone game of San Miguel this 45th season, Romeo and the Beermen started their title-defense campaign with a bang where he delivered 19 points and it was noticeable that his playing minutes also jumped to 28 minutes.
