As Pinay tennis phenom Alex Eala plays well, his place in the world rankings is rising.
From being No. 903 Eala climbed to No. 763 in the most recently released Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour singles rankings.
The WTA has been the basis of the 15-year-old Pinay netter’s good performance in her participation in tournaments in Spain and France since January.
“I’m super happy and thankful to my team and family for all the support,” said Eala, a scholar of the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy, who entered as a junior reserve in the last three-leg W15 Manacor ITF Rafa Nadal Academy World Tennis Tour in January in Spain.
Eala clinched her first women’s pro title when she won the first leg of the three-leg W15 Manacor ITF Rafa Nadal Academy World Tennis Tour.
She made it to the quarterfinals of the second and third leg of the said tournament where some of the biggest pro players around the world also played.
Eala was knocked out of the ITF W25 Grenoble in France when he suffered a 0-6, 4-6 defeat to WTA No. 220 Maja Chwalinska of Poland in the quarterfinals of such a tournament.
