It was reported earlier today that Dez Wells and Arwind Santos, as well as Kelly Nabong and Ronald Tubid, got involved in a scuffle during SMB practice game.
This news was confirmed by a team official to ESPN5.
According to the story which was first published in spin.ph, the fight began when Santos set a hard pick that knocked down Wells on the floor of Upper Deck Gym in Pasig on Sunday’s team scrimmage.
Then according to some fans which were allowed to enter the facility, Tubid came to the picture and punched Wells. To defend the Beermen import in the commotion, Nabong punched Tubid.
The Beermen is currently chasing the last jewel of the 44th PBA season to complete a rare grand slam.
Earlier this 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, they were on a roll and it seems that they’re locked down for the prestigious hardware at the end of this conference.
Yet lately, their boat seems unstable and having a hard time to make victories.
The franchise brought John Holland and was tested in their last game versus the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, yet, his performance was not that too impressive.
That could be the reason why Wells still with the team who was earlier reported suffering from an ankle injury.
The Beermen will be back on Wednesday versus the TNT KaTropa and both teams will be playing for one final slot that will carry a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals round.
