The 38-year-old guard Ronald Tubid was reported to test the free-agent market as there’s no contract extension offer from the San Miguel Beermen.
Tubid was part of the Beermen bid to complete a rare grand slam during the 42nd and 43rd PBA seasons.
During the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, the Beermen had a great campaign particularly at the start of the third conference along with their high-scoring import Dez Wells. However, at the later stage of the season-ending tourney, the Beermen seems like they self-dismantled when a scuffle in one of San Miguel’s broke out.
Tubid is one of the SMB players who got involved in the said incident where they were later slapped with fines and suspensions.
Tubid may be entering “father-time” in his basketball career yet his experience and knowledge of the game will be useful especially for those teams which are loaded of young players who need guidance.
