The San Miguel Beermen continues its mastery against their long-time All-Filipino rival, the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok during the 45th PBA season opener at the Big Dome.
This year’s recipient of the Most Improved Player award, Mo Tautuaa proves that his success is no fluke and he let everyone remember that he was a former top draft pick of the league.
Tautuaa delivered 20 points and 11 rebounds enough to give relief to his squad as they played without their Most Valuable Player in June Mar Fajardo who is on the sidelines due to an injury.
Tautuaa is one of the five SMB players who reached in double-digits in scoring that at least scored 10 points.
It was a close match in the first quarter yet it was in the second quarter where they Beermen found a weak spot from the Magnolia defense where they took advantage of it.
There were several attempts from Magnolia to make a comeback but San Miguel is always quick to regroup where they stopped their opponent’s scoring run.
Paul Lee led the Hotshots with his 19 points and five rebounds output but he also committed five errors. Ian Sangalang and newly minted Hotshots Jackson Corpuz each had 16 points.
