The Phoenix Fuel Masters coming away victorious against the Blackwater Elite, 120-117.
Matthew Wright lifted his team and rally Phoenix to push the game into overtime.
Mr. Wright delivered 28 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Eleven of those points came in the last two minutes of the game when the Fuel Masters decided not to give Doug Kramer and Willy Wilson a defeat in their last game as a pro.
Both Kramer and Wilson were reported that they have the intention to make their farewell from the league.
The match was a no bearing game as both Phoenix and Blackwater already eliminated even before they entered their afternoon’s match.
However, the two ball-clubs showcased their professionalism and gave their very best until the final buzzer.
There was even a chance for a double-overtime after Roi Sumang connected his bonus free-throw and tied the score at 117-all with only two seconds left in the extra period.
Phoenix head coach Louie Alas called his last timeout for the season and designed a play. That last offensive possession of the Fuel Masters went on the hands of Wright and he swished a three-pointer as time expired.
Marqus Blakely was superb in their exit game and lead the Elite in their scoring with 37 points and 17 rebounds while Mac Belo added 25 markers and six boards.
Matthew Wright With The Win… BANG!!!
