The Gin Kings is now on a 2-1 series lead and wanted to make a commanding 3-1 advantage tonight. Yet, despite having one of their main-man down, Meralco is far from surrendering.

Raymond Almazan was seen leaving the game in Game 3 when he accidentally had a knee collision with LA Tenorio in the first quarter. His teammate Raymar Jose needed to carry him out as “Rock-en-Roll” unable to put weight on his injured leg.

“It’s a big blow. Raymond has been playing great this series – rebounding, defense, putback scoring. So, it’s definitely a big loss. We’ll see if he can come back but if not, everybody else got to step up. Next man up,” said Meralco foreign hire Allen Durham.

With Almazan wasn’t around in Game 3, Gin Kings forward Japeth Aguilar took centerstage where he played well in both ends of the court. Apart from his 23 points production, Aguilar also made seven swats.

“That’s one of his greatest skills, I think. He’s got great timing, he gets off the floor so quick and of course, he’s so long you think you have the shot off and he comes out of nowhere and does that,” said Ginebra head coach Tim Cone.
