PBA 3×3 Tournament In The Works

The leadership of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is ironing out the first 3×3 tournament in the league.

Tournament chairman Richard Bachmann, in collaboration with 3×3 director Eric Altamirano, is already studying what the system will be in its implementation.

The group would have targeted to start it before the opening of PBA Season 46 in April.

But it is possible that this will be delayed, especially since there are many things that need to be fixed, especially with the health protocols that will be implemented.

Among the fixes will be the tournament format as well as the number of teams that will compete in the inagural edition of PBA 3×3.

3×3 was among those discussed by the PBA at its board meeting yesterday.

Aside from 3×3, the league is also adjusting the requirements for PBA Season 46 specifically the bubble to be used for it.

The PBA is considering whether to use the same bubble in Clark during the Season 45 Philippine Cup or use the more spacious home-venue-home, home-gym-home format.

Clark bubble was successful last year to finish the Philippine Cup ruled by Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings.
