North Division’s number one team will battle against the number four-seeded squad in Group A when the 2019 MPBL Lakan Cup semi-final round resumes this evening at the FilOil Flying V Center.

Team San Juan easily crossed the second round of the tournament’s playoffs after they dispatched the Pasay Voyagers in their quarterfinals round.

Unlike in their Game 1 duel where the match was decided by just a point, In Game 2, the Knights proved why they’re one of the two teams that own the top of the standings.

Though the Voyagers had a stellar run in the third quarter, yet team San Juan made their counter-attack in the final frame to secure that needed win to proceed to the semis.

John Wilson continues to show the way for San Juan as he dropped 17 points and 16 rebounds in that said game while Jhoanrd Clarito added a double-double output with his 13 markers and 12 boards.

For team Pampanga on the other hand, they secured their semis ticket after they eliminated the Bataan Risers last February 20 at the AUF Gymnasium.

It was a tug-of-war kind of game between the Giant Lanterns and the Risers in their final game in the quarterfinals. Yet, home-team was in a higher ground as they took advantage of the support of their fans who cheered for them inside the gymnasium.

John Dexter Maiquez led Pampanga with his 19 points and 9 rebounds while teammates Levi Hernandez and Micael Juico each had 17 points in the victory.
