The semi-finals of the 2019-20 MPBL Lakan Cup have arrived and the North Division will take the honors to start it up this evening as the Frontrow Stars will collide against the Super Crunch tonight in San Juan City.

Team Manila swept its quarterfinals round battle versus the Pasig Sta. Lucia Realtors. They closed their first-round last February 22 at the Malolos Sports & Convention Center.

The Frontrow Stars final game in that said round wasn’t easy as the match was decided by only two points.

Manila ended the first half of Game 2 having a 10-point advantage and seems like they’re on their way to make their sweep. Yet, a rampaging second half unleashed by Pasig to keep them in the game as they attempt to extend their season.

Yet, Manila had enough buffer to bag the victory and got rewarded by a semis ticket.

Carlo Lastimosa was the shining star of Manila in that said duel where he made 21 points while Chris Bitoon added 19 points and seven rebounds.

For team Makati on the other hand, they too swept their first-round versus the Bulacan Kuyas.

Their Game 2 played in Malolos, the home of the Kuyas where they took advantage of their home-court advantage and displayed scoring prowess, particularly in the first quarter.

Yet, that was the only frame the home-team dominated and the rest went to the visiting Makati ball-club.

The Super Crunch properly executed their defensive strategy where they forced their opponent to commit 19 turnovers. Several of those Kuya’s errors were converted to 25 points in Makati’s favor.

Joshua Torralba and Cedric Ablaza each made 22 points while Jeckster Apinan and Joseph Sedurifa chipped in with 16 and 11 points respectively.
