The eighth-seeded Volcanoes stunned the South Division leader, the Tigers in their Game 2 quarterfinals encounter where they got successful on extending their season by notching a 1-1 series score.

It was a tug-of-war kind of game between the two squads particularly in the last five minutes of the final frame. Team Bicol was able to pile an eight-point advantage right after they orchestrated a massive 8-0 blast.

The Tigers don’t want to get left behind and they too had a counter 7-0 scoring attack.

Yet, the night went to the Volcanoes and they’re just a game to complete an upset in this year’s edition of MPBL.

“Napakahirap talunin ng powerhouse team. Pero still, kailangan naming mag trabaho, kailangan naming trabahuhin kasi gusto naming manalo, sabi ko kailangan naming trabahuhin hanggang dulo,” said Bicol head coach Monel Kallos.

Team Bicol leading scorer in Game 2 were Alwyn Alday and Jerome Garcia who each scored with 18 points.

For team Davao on the other hand, they got their scoring lift from Emman Calo who made 15 points along with his 10 rebounds while Billy Robles added 13 markers and six boards.
