The South Division will kick-off its semi-finals round and for its first featured game, it’ll be between the third-seeded Steel up against the second-seeded Strikers when the 2010-20 MPBL Lakan Cup resumes in Davao this evening.

Team Basilan outduel its first-round opponent, the Iloilo United Royals last February 24 at the Basilan Gymnasium.

The Steel used the painted area to secure their semi-finals spot where they dominated the rebounding and second chance point categories.

Jay Collado led his squad with his 18 points and 10 rebounds while Jerald Bautista and Allyn Bulanadi had 12 and 11 points respectively.

For team Bacoor on the other hand, their quarterfinals also reached Game 3 where they were able to defeat the GenSan Warriors in Basilan Gymnasium last February 24.

It was all defense between the two squads in that mentioned game where their respective is on the line. Yet, the victory went to the second-best squad of Group B.

The second unit of the Strikers was one of the reasons for their win as they outscored their opponent in that category, 22-9.

Christopher Sumalinog topped the winning club with his 16 points and three boards while Nick Demusis who led that bench scoring with his 11 markers.
