At around 7:00 PM last Tuesday, a certain call center agent lady is on her way to her rented condominium in Makati City when a man diguised himself as a “habal-habal” driver and offered her a ride.
The lady accepted the offer and they avoided several checkpoints until they reached Sta. Cruz in the City of Manila.
“May mga shortcuts siguro iniwasan nila yung mga checkpoints natin,” said P/LT. COL. Rey Magdaluyo, Station Commander, MPD Station 3.
According to the call center agent she was taken to a motel where she got raped.
Tapos natatakot na ako,” said the victim.
After the said crime commited to her she was accompanied by the suspect going to Pasay City.
Since Wednesday evening the victim was in the Sta. Cruz Police Station where she tried to remember the identity of her agressor until she recalled the name of the suspect which was printed on his quarantine pass.
Through the use of social media, the whereabouts of the suspect was identified and he was later got arrested. The suspect name is Mark Anthony Nati who works as a bank security guard.
The Sta. Cruz Police reminded call center agents and other workers who don’t have a vehicle going to their work to be vigilant especially to those individuals who offer rides.
Naghahanap ng mahihila nila o yung masisila nila magiging biktima nila,” said Station Commander Magdaluyo.
Nati will face rape charges. Likewise, the authorities will conduct investigation to the motel where the incident took place. Under ECQ, the said establishment shouldn’t be in operation.
