Boxing champ and Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao has teamed-up with Jack Ma to help the Philippines in its quest to beat COVID-19.
According to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation twitter handle, both of their foundations will provide 50,000 test kits to combat the new coronavirus in the nation.
“We’re excited to announce the Jack Ma Foundation, in partnership with the Pacquiao Foundation, is pledging 50,000 test kits to combat COVID-19 in the Philippines,” said the man known as the “Pambansang Kamao”.
“With everything that’s happening around the world today, there is no better time to unite and do whatever we can to help each other,” he said.
At the time of this writing, the Philippines now has a total of 193 confirmed cases of COVID-19 where the death toll is now at 14 while there are seven patients who are cited that already recovered from the disease brought by NCoV.
Yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte has declared that the entire nation is under the state of calamity due to the spread of the new coronavirus.
