Here is the live streaming video of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte where he will address the nation with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Luzon lockdown reaches its midway and the entire Philippines is eager to hear his report on the actions done by the government to combat the new coronavirus.
The schedule of the live broadcast is tentatively set at 4 P.M. according to Presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo.
“I expect to receive a report on [the] distribution of financial aid to the 18 million families of the informal sector, mass testing especially in urban areas, [and] prioritization of the safety and welfare of the frontline health workers,” said Senate President Vicente Sotto III.
As of the March 29, 2020 (4:00 P.M.) report, the Department of Health has tallied 1,418 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines. The total death toll is now at 71 while 42 patients have recovered from the disease.
“What we would have achieved by April 12 is we would have been able to contain the virus. We would probably have been able to identify what communities are negative so siguro, we want to see more communities na negative, na walang COVID-19 cases,” Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said.
“Basically the victory we want to happen is hindi na siya mag-spread and hopefully there will be no new cases happening,” he added.
