The man who is known as the “Kraken” is currently the leading candidate for the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Best Player of the Conference award.

Fajardo got a total of 38.4 statistical points after the elimination round. To boost his chances to land the season-ending tourney trophy, he is also the league-leader in the rebounding category where he averaged 13.6 caroms per outing.

2018 top overall pick CJ Perez is running at the number spot with 37.2 statistical points while second-year man Kiefer Ravena owns the third spot with 36.1 SPs.

With Columbian Dyip already out in contention after they failed to qualify for the quarterfinals round, the race is now between Fajardo and Ravena.

The “Phenom” helped the NLEX Road Warriors finished at number one spot during the first round of the third conference having 8-3 slate.

Ravena also is the conference’s leader in dimes per outing where he registered 8.2 per ball-game.

Fajardo and his fans are hoping that he will be able to carry his squad past the first round of the playoffs where they needed to win twice in order to qualify for semis.

San Miguel will face its sister-team, the Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.

The Road Warriors, on the other hand, carry a twice-to-beat advantage and the squad hopes that they can avoid a knockout game versus the NorthPort Batang Pier in the first round and have smooth sailing as they move to semi-finals.
