Third-seeded Steels surprised the second-seeded Strikers during the semi-finals opener a few days ago as Basilan took home the victory and gained an upper edge in the best-of-three playoffs series.
PBA bound Allyn Bulanadi showcased his basketball skills in front of Davao fans as he dropped 22 points where 12 of those came from beyond the three-point area.
Bulanadi sparked his team where they orchestrated a 23-6 run in the final frame to completely shut the door for team Bacoor.
“I just told the boys to stay composed and to continue what we’re doing right, which is to put pressure on the ball,” said head coach of Basilan Jerson Cabiltes.
Hesed Gabo added 13 points and six dimes for the winning ball-club in Game 1 while teammate Anthony Bringas was active in cleaning the boards as he registered 14 rebounds with four markers.
For Bacoor on the other hand, they needed to take advantage of playing at home in order for them to even the series even if Gab Banal needed to sit out after he absorbed a knee injury from their previous game.
Guys like Christopher Sumalinog, Nick Demusis and company need to step-up to claim the 1-all series.
